ACADEMIC DEFINITIONS:

a) An Academic Session represents the period commencing from the first class attended by a student to the specified time of completion of the specific course for which the students have been admitted.
b) A Batch is a group of students registered for a specific course. Each batch is assigned a specific batch code. Each batch has a specific commencement date.
c) Every course leads to the award of a Certificate subject to fulfillment of all requirements.
d) A Course is the smallest unit for which admission is permitted. A course is a sequence of classroom and practical session and associated with learning activities.
e) Monthly Installment Payment Plan is a facility which is given to a student whereby he/she can make a part of the payment.
f) Admission to a course that forms an advanced version of particular course is called Course upgradation.
g) A Student Invoice is containing information a batch code, student's registration/roll no, student's enrollment no, student's name and the mode of payment of course fee.


ACADEMIC ADMISSION:

a) Admission to any course is based on the Institution's eligibility norms as defined from time to time and the Institute reserves the right to refuse admission to any applicant.
b) An applicant’s admission to a course is confirmed for a particular batch only on payment of the admission fee. In the case of a course up-gradation, the admission is confirmed on payment of the up-gradation fee is specified from time to time.
c) An admission to a course is not transferable to any other individual.
d) Normally an admission to a specific course cannot be converted into an admission to any other course. This transfer may be permitted at the discretion of the Center-in-charge, if an application (supported by relevant documents) is given by the student at least 7 days prior to the scheduled date / time of the first batch. If permitted, such a student can be transferred to a course of which the course fee should be equivalent or more than the course to which the student had been previously admitted.
e) Admission of a candidate to a specific course remains valid only unto the normal expiry of the admission, cancellation of admission or the Statute of Limitation, whichever is earlier.


ACADEMIC IDENTITY CARD AND CLASS PLANNING:

a) Each student is issued a valid Identity Card after joining the course.
b) An Identity Card is valid only if it contains the student's name, student's registration/ Student ID, student's enrollment no, batch code, payment details, issuing date and expiry date of the course he/she is admitted, along with a recent photograph and is duly stamped and signed by an authorized MAHATMA GANDHI RASHTRIYA COMPUTER SAKSHARTA MISSION official.
c) A student may be asked to produce his/her Identity Card by the personnel authorized by MAHATMA GANDHI RASHTRIYA COMPUTER SAKSHARTA MISSION a student will be entitled to specified services and study materials on production of his/her Identity Card.
d) A student may not be allowed to appear in an examination if he/she is unable to produce his/her Identity Card.
e) In case of a loss of an Identity Card, a duplicate Identity Card may be issued on written request and against a payment of Rs. 10 /-.
f) A student may not be allowed in a class if he/she is unable to produce his/her identity card.
g) A student is required to renew his/her Identity Card on up gradation of every course.


COURSE MATERIALS:

a) Every student is issued one set of course material during the course. In case of loss of a particular set of course material, a duplicate set will be issued to the student on payment of an amount specified from time to time. The rate card is available with the academic counselor.
b) In order to meet the requirements of the advanced course, the student is encouraged to refer to other text books and journals.
c) Course material is issued to the student on the production of a valid Identity Card.


COURSE METHODOLOGY:

a) Each course is composed of different modules.
b) During the course every student is evaluated through tests, projects, presentations, each of which forms a part of the student's final evaluation.
c) Home assignments - reading and exercise - form an integral part of the learning process. The completion of home assignments is a prerequisite for effective learning in the next class. In case a student does not follow this pattern strictly, he/she will not be able to get the best out of the course.
d) Each course is conducted according to predefined course targets which are communicated to the students through the notice board. These targets define the date, time and venue of all major activities regarding the course.
e) These targets may be subsequently altered at the discretion of the Centre-in-charge and communicated to students through the student's Notice Board.
f) Each batch is assigned a faculty who is responsible for the learning process of each student. The faculty is expected to solve all technical problems of the students. However, if a problem remains unsolved, the student is welcome to contact the Centre-in-charge.
g) The student is expected to complete / allocated to.
h) The student is expected to maintain 100% attendance along with the batch allocated / admitted to get the full benefit of the course.
i) The student should discuss the implications of any absence that cannot be avoided with the faculty and work out a plan of corrective act


EXAMINATION SYSTEM:

a) During the course, every student is evaluated through module test, project, presentations which form a part of the student's final evaluation.
b) The tests / presentations / examinations are administered as per the schedule & sequence specified for the concerned batch. The student is allowed only one attempt for each of the scheduled tests/presentations.
c) A student who does not pass an examination will be allowed to appear for a retest. In case of absence, the student is allowed to reappear for the examination only if the reason for absence is supported by relevant documents and the Centre-in-charge is completely satisfied with the reason of such absence. The date of the retest will be specified by the Institute.
d) Marks obtained in the retest will be considered for the Certificate.


CERTIFICATION:

a) The student's overall performance in a course is based on the weighted average of his/her score in each of the scheduled tests.
b) The student is awarded a Grade Certificate upon passing the course (i.e. on securing >=40% marks in aggregate).
c) A student, who has completed the course but whose aggregate is less than 40% will be given an Attendance Certificate and not a Grade Certificate.
d) The grades awarded are as below: 90-100% is A+ - Excellent, 80-89 is A- Excellent, 70-79% is B+ - Very Good, 60-69% is B - Good, 50-59% is Average- C+, 40-49% is Average- C, < 40% is D – Fail.
e) A student should verify the correctness of his/her name, grade, course, duration mentioned in the grade list. Duplicate certificate will be issued against a fine of Rs. 100/-.
f) The student will not be awarded the Certificate in case of any outstanding dues from the student.


FEE:

a) For seeking admission to MAHATMA GANDHI RASHTRIYA COMPUTER SAKSHARTA MISSION, a student has to apply on the prescribed admission from available along with the prospectus, which can be obtained on payment of a fixed amount specified from time to time.
b) On being selected for admission, the student is required to pay the prevailing admission fee for-the concerned course. A student is allowed to pay a booking fee and the balance amount of admission fee within 7 days. If the student does not pay the balance amount within 7 days, his/her admission is cancelled. The booking fee is non-refundable.
c) In certain cases, a special confessional fee structure (for course fee only) is available for ex-students of MAHATMA GANDHI RASHTRIYA COMPUTER SAKSHARTA MISSION and upgrading students. An ex-student for the purpose is defined as any person —
i) who has completed a professional course at MAHATMA GANDHI RASHTRIYA COMPUTER SAKSHARTA MISSION
ii) Who has a certificate to prove the same.
iii) Who has proof of having paid all the dues for the course.
d) For certain courses, students have the facility of paying their course fee in installments as specified from time to time.
e) Students availing of the Installment Facility have to make a specified down payment on or before the first session.
f) The monthly installment of the payment are due as stated in the invoice (in case of a holiday, on the previous working day), irrespective of whether a student continues with a batch or takes a batch transfer or drops out of the course at any point of time.
g) A grace period of 10 days from the due date "specified in the invoice may be granted for paying an installment. A late fine of Rs.2/day (except holidays) is charged during the grace period (The due date is counted at the dated of next month he/she is admitted).
h) The name of a student is automatically struck off the Student ID and the student is not permitted to attend classes if he/she fails to pay the installment within the grace period.
i) In exceptional case, a student whose name has been struck off the Student ID may be permitted to continue with his/her course only upon payment of an appropriate late fee as well as the balance of the course fee and batch transfer fee, at the discretion of the Centre-in-charge.
j) A student who defaults on an installment can no longer avail of the installment facility.
k) Any student availing of the installment facility can discontinue the installment mode of payment by paying a one-time amount which will result in a considerable saving for the student. The details are available with Academic Counselors.
l) All fees are payable by cash.
m) The Institute reserves the right to make any changes in the fee-structure from time to time. These changes shall be binding on both existing and new students.
n) A student is liable to pay Rs. 50/- as examination fee on the specified date mentioned in the student invoice.
o) A student is expected to complete a course in the batch of the particular centre that he/she has been admitted to. If, after commencement of the course a student seeks transfer to a different batch / centre, permission will have to be taken from relevant authorities. If permission is granted, the student will be required to pay Rs. 10/- as Batch transfer fee and Rs. 100/- as centre transfer fee.
p) When a student books admission to a particular course and makes the down payment, he/she is issued an Invoice. The installment amount payable by the student and the due dates are mentioned in this card. A student has to sign the card when he/she receives it. A student must produce his/her invoice at the time of payments.


REFUND:

a) Application fee is not refundable.
b) Admission fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
c) No fee is refundable in cash a student is deemed to have dropped out and/or has taken course stopover/transfer.
d) No fee is refundable for any upgraded admission.


COURSE STOPOVERS AND TRANSFERS:

a) A student is expected to complete the programme in a batch he/she is admitted to. A break or stopover or a transfer is not desirable as it affects the performance of a student. However, in exceptional cases, the facility of a course stopover or batch transfer may be extended at the discretion of the centre-in-charge. But the decision of the centre transfer rests primarily on the person concerned at the head office. In both cases, a student is required to submit a written application along with proper document to the Centre-in-charge.
b) A transfer to a specific batch is subject to availability of seats and equivalence between the original and new course.
c) A student is required to provide the following at the time of Proof of original admission being provided intransfer to a new batch Proof ofthe form of money receipt, identity card and student invoice. The course stopover/transfer request having been duly permitted by Centre-in-charge (for batch transfer) or person concerned from head office (for centre transfer).
d) The Centre-in-charge will decide the appropriate module at which the student will join after transfer.
e) Any student being transferred to another batch will not be entitled to receive any course material that has already been issued to the student earlier with the original batch.
f) Students of short term course will not be allowed a transfer.
g) In case of centre transfer MGRCSM will not be responsible for any changes in respect of class days and timings, and syllabus.


CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION:

a) For a student who has opted to pay the course fee by the Installment Payment Facility as per the defined schedule, non-payment of any installment by the last date of payment of the same would lead to the student's admission being cancelled.
b) The student is expected to maintain proper discipline and decorum within the premises of the Institute. Non-adherence to the norms can lead to a student being barred from attending any course at any centre of
c) Any student found using unfair means during examination or contravening any of the rules of the Institute will be barred from attending any course at any centre of MAHATMA GANDHI RASHTRIYA COMPUTER SAKSHARTA MISSION.
